Dance in the Rain

I feel like this card sums up my life...

Since I feel like I am always trying to weather another "storm" in my life, I need to learn to just dance in the rain.  Sorry for the lack of posts lately and I have no real excuse other than life seems to get in the way of my creativity sometimes and leaves me with lack of creativity.  I dislike it when that happens :(

The image is an older one from Designed2Delight.  I have had it printed out for some time and wanting to make it into a card.

Happy Father's Day

Have you ever made a card and everything just fell into place and turned out better than you ever expected?  Well, I am not the best at "guy cards", but I have to say that this has to be the best "guy card" I have ever created.   I absolutely love this "Quiet Sunset" digi by D2D and couldn't wait to color it up with my colored pencils and gamisol.  I did use Copics on the boat.  How about that great "woodgrain technique" that I learned today on Stamp TV?  Awesome and so masculine!!  I knew it would be perfect for this card.    I added some eyelets and jute since I knew I could add any bows or flowers.  I hope this will give you some inspiration for Father's Day next month.

Cards For Men - Someone Special
My Partner In Crafting Crime - Jute, Twine or String

Ballerina Teddy

**Thanks for all congrats for my new grandson....You are all the sweetest!**

Yea....Blogger is back up and running great :)

I am showcasing another one of Mabelle's (Whimsy & Stars Studio) new Spring images.  You can go to Mabelle's Etsy shop and check out all of her adorable images.  I couldn't resist coloring up this cute little ballerina and making her into a card for someone sweet.  I added glitter to the skirt, the star on the wand and some chunky glitter around the star wand.  I made my own homemade flower using a flower die cut, a pink felt button, a white button and a pink pearl.  The flower die cut was embossed with a swiss dot embossing folder.

There are more ideas for the new images here.

Image: Ballerina Teddy (Whimsy & Stars Studio)
Paper: Valentine Pack (K & Co.)
Coloring: Copics
Misc:  Lattice deep edge punch (MS), Rectangle & flower die cuts (Spellbinders), pearls and buttons.

Three For You

**YIKES...After the problems with blogger...I seem to have lost my challenge links on this post, If you are visiting because I entered this card into a challenge, I do apologize.***

First, I want to shout out a big CONGRATULATIONS to Penny (luvs 2 Paint & Create) for winning the "Windsong" digi during the Mother's Day Weekend Blog Hop.  I can't thank all of you enough for all your sweet comments and I do hope that I was able to give you a little bit of inspiration.

Second, I become a grandma again on Saturday...My 1st grandson was born (I already have 2 granddaughters) and it was the best Mother's Day gift I have ever received.  I can't wait to go visit and give him lots of love.  Congrats to my son, Chris and his wife Erin!!

Now, thanks for being so patient, here is my card.

I used a freebie, "Three for You", that I picked up from Tiddy Inks some time ago and have had it colored and waiting to be made into a card.  It's kind of a modern looking image and I wanted to keep the card simple, clean and modern looking.  I did my three button layering that I seem to like so much lately and added Glossy Accents to the stripes on the yellow/blue vase and orange polka dots on the blue vase.  The centers of each flower have a mini brad added.  Once, I figured out what direction I was going with this card, it ended up being pretty quick to finish.

Since I am feeling so blessed this week, I am going to give away a set of my note cards from this post to one lucky commenter.  It's a set of 6 note cards with envelopes included.  You can keep them for yourself or they would make a great gift for someone.

Thanks for stopping by!

MIA

Just to let all my followers know that I am back after a very scary few days.  We were part of the tornado that ripped through the state of Alabama and left a lot of damage and devastation.  We were without power since last Wednesday and had no phone service (home or cell) and no internet service.  Everything was restored for us on Sunday and now I have a lot of catching up to do.  I am blessed that no one I know was hurt in the tornados. I pray and my heart is heavy for all the families across the south that weren't so lucky.  I will be back soon with a new card post.
