Baby Flower Trio

I haven't made any clothing items lately and was needing a baby girl gift, I decided to pull out my stamps and a plain white onesie and get creative.  I used an older stamp set from Autumn Leaves.  I used Versa Magic Ink from Tsukinek.  It is a multi surface chalk ink and worked really well on the fabric.  Just make sure you put something, like a piece of paper or chipboard inside the onesie so that the ink doesn't bleed through to the back.  After stamping, I let the ink dry well and then heat set it with an iron to make sure it will stay permanent.  I added a buttons to the centers of each flower and a little green gingham bow to each stem.  This gift was pretty quick and easy to make in no time at all and it reminds me of Spring.

Speaking of Spring...is it still really February?  I can't get over this weather that we have had this winter.  So much for the winter clothes, they have been forgotten.  It has been such a mild winter and I am not complaining.  There are so many things in bloom right now, daffodils, Forsythia bushes and Bradford Pear trees and it is a beautifully sunny day.

Now, off to make a matching card and look for some cute green gingham shorts to match.

Lazy Bunny

Another one of the new D2D digi's.

Lazy??....I say, "Cute" and everybody need to be lazy every now and then.  I love this Easter digi and this card just seemed to come together so easily.  I never pick out my DP before I color my digi and the colors that I chose matched perfectly with the DP that I used.  I have been using up lots of scrap DP lately and this card is no exception.  I even used some really old products...the gingham fabric brads are really old and the flower die that I just "had to have" and never used until now.  I am going to be using the flower die more often.  I really like it!

Recipe:
Stamps - Lazy Easter Bunny (D2D)
Paper - Sweet Nectar (K & Co.), Playful Pink (Martha Stewart)
Coloring - Copics
Misc - Gingham brads (The Paper Studio), Flower die (Provo Craft), Apron Lace Punch (Fiskars), Circle Dies (Spellbinders)

Challenges:
Paper Sundaes - Circles
Allsorts - Free and Easy
Hiding in My Craft Room - Bring on some Spring

Precious Baby

I am using one of the images that I won from a challenge over at Heart Song Inspirations.  I don't have a lot of baby images and this is so sweet that I couldn't resist picking this one.  It was an easy image to color up quickly and since it is a little scene, I kept the image as the focal point of the card.  The little safety pin has been in my stash longer than I care to admit, but I knew that some day it would work for something creative.  I used my green Spica glitter pen to add a little sparkle to the tree leaves and my black glaze pen for the center of the flowers.  I love all things baby :)

Recipe:
Stamps - Precious Baby (Heart Song Inspirations)
Paper - Itsy Bitsy Baby Girl (K & Co.)
Coloring - Copics
Misc - Ribbon, Square dies (Spellbinders), Safety pin (Wilton), Spica Glitter pen, Black Glaze pen.

Challenges:
Crafty Catz - I Spy "B"
Delightful Challenges - Use patterned paper

These are great - love your color combinations. If I had to pick a favorite, I think I'd have to go with the puppy, he's so precious!!!! Great cards, all of them! :) *******************************************************************************
"Painting Eggs"
An older Designed2Delight image.  It reminds me of Peter Cottontail.  I have actually had this one colored since last Spring and didn't ever get around to getting it made into a card.  Trying hard to use up scrap DP and images already colored before digging into any thing new.  I found this older piece of DP in my scrap bin and the button brads are a purchase made a looong time ago.  I am so ready for Spring even though we have had such a wonderful, warm winter here in the south.  I added Glossy Accents to the paint brush bristles and the drops of paint to give them the sheen of real paint.  Bunnies, flowers and Easter eggs....makes me smile!

Recipe:
Stamps - Painting Eggs (D2D), Sentiment (Craft Smart)
Paper - The Goods (American Crafts), Yellow, white & blue card stock
Coloring - Copics
Misc - Polka Dot Embossing folder (Provo Craft), Labels One dies (Spellbinders), button brads (The Paper Studio), ribbon, Glossy Accents, Black Ink.

Featured Fan Friday @ Whimsie Doodles

So excited to be a Featured Friday Fan on the Whimsie Doodles Blog today!

With my "Mailed My Heart" freebie design.

 I absolutely love this digi!

I am entering this card into the Whimsie Doodles monthly challenge since every piece of paper came from my scrap pile.  It feels good to use up little pieces of leftover DP instead of cutting into a brand new piece.

Happy Friday to YOU!

Valentine Cards

"Good Things"

I actually used some of my SU! stamps to create some quick and easy Valentine cards.  I was need quite a few mailable cards and decided to keep them clean and simple.  Looking through my rubber stamps, I came across this stamp set, "Good Things" by SU! and liked the small three flower image.  I looked through my scrap drawer and using scraps and ended up with 3 different looks using the same image.

Using some striped paper from We R Memory Keepers.

Using some digital paper, "Pure Love" from Designed2Delight.

And last but not least, the inside of the cards...

A $1 Stamp from Studio G.

The outside sentiment is from Indadinkado.

Happy Sunny Tuesday to You!

Valentine Decor

EDIT:  If you don't have a frame like this and chances are you probably don't, just cover one with some DP or I am thinking that you can get the same effect by taking a white frame and painting the stripes with acrylic paint or even markers!

No Stamping, coloring, etc...today, just some fun Valentine Decor.

I purchased this frame a couple of years ago right after Valentine's Day on the clearance rack at WalMart.  It came as a set of three and I am guessing that I didn't even pay $1 for the whole set.  The opening is only a 3.75" square, so not a whole lot of room to work with or fill up.  I used my smallest Spellbinders heart die to cut out the white hearts.  The colored heart is an epoxy embellishment made by Making Memories that I have had it in my stash longer than I care to admit.  I knew one day that I would use it.  It's actually puffy on both sides, but I found that they easily come apart and then you have 2 embellishments for the price of one.  All the hearts were added to a piece of card stock cut to fit the opening with some dimensional dots.  There you have it, cheap and quick Valentine Decor!  Just a hint....Don't ever throw an old frame away, as you never know when it will come in handy for a crafty project.

I hope that I have inspired you to make something crafty today.
