Who says you can't make a gift box/bag out of things you have in your home? I found this great idea right here and this is my take on it...
I am loving this idea! How many cereal boxes and other boxes go into my recycling box on a weekly basis? Not any more!! I started with a cereal box and carefully took it apart and cut it down to about 5" tall. I covered it with DP (Ornaments on Black by The Paper Company) and then glued the box back together with Scor Tape. I used a Martha Stewart punch to make a border around the top with red cardstock. I used my Crop-a-dile and some black eyelets (WOW...how long has it been since I have used eyelets?) to make holes in the front and back for the ribbon.
Of course, no gift bag is complete without a tag. Using the same materials I made a gift tag and added some silver pearls and a sentiment (Stampabilities, Merry Christmas Always) on a banner flag. A big black button finished off the top of the ribbon on the tag. I can't believe how sturdy this gift bag/box is. I just need to get some black tissue paper and I am ready to use it for a Christmas gift. I will definitely be making more of these.
Thanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteLOVE this gift bag!! It's hard to believe it was a cereal box! I hope that it's okay, I just couldn't help but feature it in a cereal box crafts round-up I just finished.. You can see it here:
