Here is my mailable 2012 Christmas Card.  I used a Penny Black Snowman stamp that I have had for quite some time, but is still available for purchase.  The sentiment is from Stampendous and I found it some time ago at Hobby Lobby.  Since my card needed to be mail friendly plus easy to mass produce, I kept it simple.  I started by stamping my design on Kraft cardstock and then added some color with Copic markers and a white colored pencil.  The snowflakes and fringe on the scarf have Spica glitter pen added for some sparkle.  It's hard to take a photo of cards with glittery goodness.  I added 2 mini black brads for the buttons and a MS snowflake punch.  The center of the snowflake is a small punched red circle with Glossy Accents added to  make it look like a brad.

So cute...I chose the image, Bearing Christmas Gifts to showcase.  I love everything about this image...the bear, the Christmas tree and the sled with presents.  I used my 1" circle punch to make the scallop border.  The strip of DP is from Debbie Mumm and the sentiment is a stamp from Studio G.

Catching Flakes Challenge

 I have fallen in love with the color combo of red and gray.  What an adorable snowman that Faith has created!  Once again, I used the snowflakes embossing folder from The Paper Studio on the red panel.  The Gray Polka Dot paper is from Recollections and has become on of my favorite DP's.  After coloring my image with Copics, I drug out and dust off my liquid pearls and added a little dimension to the small snowflakes. The snowflake punch is from MS.  The sentiment stamp is from Studio G.

Winter Flowers

Delightful Inspiration's Design Team Saturday Challenge

Theme:  Winter Flowers

"Poinsettia"

I guess, Winter Flowers depends on where you live.  In Alabama where I live it would be pansies.  They bloom all winter long, but I decided to go with the Poinsettia.  It reminds me of the holidays and winter.  I went a little different direction and colored mine blue.  The DP (some really old stuff from The Paper Studio) reminded me of snowflakes and snow swirling around.  I kept my card clean and simple and wanted the flower to be the main focal point.

2011 Christmas Card

Here is my 2011 Christmas Card Design.

  It safe to post now that I know everyone has received their cards.

I love snowmen and this digi from Whimsie Doodles is my all time favorite snowman design.  It was perfect for my Christmas cards this year and it was an easy design to mass produce with just a little coloring.  I hope that you are making the Christmas season bright!

I ran out of DP and had to make a second version with different DP.

JOY

It's February 1st and that means a new challenge for

Christmas Cards All Year Round.

Red and/or Pink and dimension.

I went with red and dimension.  The patterned paper is Candy Cane Stripe by The Paper Company.  The glittery JOY sticker are by Color Bok and I found it at Target before Christmas.  I love all the glitter goodness and the little gemstones.  I just attached the letters to a die cut rectangle that was layer with a scalloped layer.  The whole panel was attached to the patterned paper and card base with foam tape.  This has to be one of the quickest cards that I have ever made.  I kept it simple because of all the detail on the letters and I wanted to make "JOY" the focal point of the card.

Cup of Cocoa

I am loving the bright colors on this card.  It brightens up the dreary days of winter.  I followed the Color Challenge over at The Pink Elephant (Pink, Orange and Aqua).  I wouldn't normally think of using these colors for a winter image, but I am liking the combo and the end result.  I chose the Whimsie Doodle image, "Cup of Cocoa" and colored it up according to the color challenge.  I went with a piece of orange polka dot patterned paper from the Amber Autumn paper pack by DCWV.  Next came the pink cardstock punched with the Garden Trellis punch by Martha Stewart.  The sentiment is from the stamp set, Melt your Heart by Printworks.  I stamped directly on the patterned paper.  I layered an orange felt flower (SU!), a white felt snowflake and an aqua button and held them together with pink floss.  My image is attached with foam tape.

Bugaboo 1st Birthday Challenges

It's Bugaboo's 1st Birthday and they have lots of challenges going on all week.  Here is my take on the first few. 

Monday: Blue and White challenge:

I used an "Eggbert Winter" image and lots of blue and white.

My bling is the gemstone is the middle of the ribbon flower and I used a Stardust Glitter gel pen on the circles on the clown outfit and then added Glossy Accents.

Snow Friend

There's Snow Friend Like You...

How cute is this image, "Snow Friends" by Whimsie Doodles?  Absolutely adorable if you ask me and I couldn't resist it!  It's such a clean and simple image and I wanted to keep the card that way, too.  I printed the sentiment, which is part of the set, on a piece of white cardstock and used it as part of my card panel.  The other third of the panel is a red strip from DCWV's, Amber Autumn Collection.  I used Fiskar's Apron Lace punch to make the border between the two panels.  The image was quick to color with markers and cut out with a circle die cut, layered with a black circle and attached to the card.  I finished with a white felt snowflake (found in the sewing dept @ WalMart) with a red brad center.  I hope you like this card as much as I do!

Christmas Wintery Combo

Designed2Delight Challenge

(I am posting a day late)

Theme: Christmas Wintery Combo

For many January means snow, cold and/or ice. For this week's challenge create a Christmas/Winter card/project using blues & purples. You can also use white and/or black for your neutral. Also use any embellishment that seems "icy" to you...glitter, glossy effects, clear coating, etc.

I used the Designed2Delight "Snowman Love" image.  I colored him up with lots of purple and aqua blue.  I added Purple Saphire glitter (Martha Stewart) to the hanging hearts and all the hearts on the snowflake.  I tried a new technique with the glitter.  Instead of using glue, I used Crystal Effects as my "glue" for the glitter.  It works great and really seems to hold the glitter.  I added a black layer and a purple scalloped layer to the image.  The background is embossed with Polka Dots embossing folder (Provo Craft).  The sentiment is a stamp from Stampabilities, "Merry Christmas Always" and I have used it alot during the holiday season.  Definitly one that I got my money's worth out of!  I layered a felt snowflake, a snowflake punch (Martha Stewart) with glitter added and a button on top.

We were given several images to work with and I chose, Chloe's Ballet Lesson by Lil' Diva Stamps.  It was a nice change to work with a pastel creation and something non-Christmas/Winter.  This image is absolutely adorable and with 2 granddaughters, I am sure to use it over and over again.

As part of the challenge last week we began collecting cards to give to patients at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, Mass. So this week we have decided to continue our challenge for one more week. So what we would like you to do is to create a card with the theme of THINKING OF YOU. You can also use HELLO, JUST FOR YOU & JUST A NOTE as sentiments on your card. We are asking that you please refrain from using the sentiment of get well. As soon as you have created your card and entered it into the challenge, we are asking you to write a note of encouragement inside your card and address the envelope to "ANY PATIENT" and then place the card into an envelope addressed to Stacy:

Christmas Morning

I couldn't resist this digital stamp...PJ Leah from Whimsie Doodles.  She reminds me of my Granddaughter, Amelia.  I colored her up with my Copic markers and this was such a fun image to color.  It's a real soft, girly looking card with a big white bow.

The posts will be random this next couple of weeks with the holidays and not a lot of time to sit down and create.  Just so you know I haven't forgotten about you.

Fairy Merry Christmas

2 Sisters Challenge #18

For this week's challenge we have kept it fairly simple... we would like to see anything CHRISTMAS. For this challenge we are being sponsored by Tracey Malnofeski of the Stamping Boutique.

Tracey provided our DT with an image called The Fairies Frolic and this is what I came up with to inspire you...

After coloring up the image with my Copic markers, I used my Spellbinders, Nestabilities to die cut the image and then the card base.  There is a lot going on in this sweet image and I kept the card fairly simple.  I added some brads to the center of the Poinsettia flowers and a little glitter to the fairie's wings and just a little more glitter here and there.  Some pearls around the scallops finished off this card.

Tiffany Style Tree

A Tiffany's Style Christmas Tree.  It's one more day closer to Christmas.  Are you ready or do you still have a million things to get done?  I am liking the clean and simple look of this card.

Winter Wonderland

It's Friday and that mean a new free image over at Delightful Inspirations if you played along last week and I do hope you did!! If not you can purchase him right here. You should have already received this image in you inbox today.  It's Winter Bear and he is having so much fun playing in the snow.

Here is the card that I made using this week's image.

I started with the sketch I found over at Crafty Little Place.  It looked like a doable sketch for the Winter Bear image.  After printing my image, the coloring was a breeze since everything is pretty much white.  Just a little color to his scarf , a little grey here and there and some glittery goodness.  The patterned paper is Classic Snowflakes Red by The Paper Company.  I embossed the 4 squares with the Swiss Dots and Snowflakes embossing folders by Provo Craft.  The sentiment is computer generated and the snowflake punch is by Martha Stewart and it has just a little bling added to the center.
