So Thankful

So Thankful...Yes, I am so thankful to be back creating again after a "little" break that ended up being more of a "big" break.  It felt good to be back in my craft room creating and discovering some lost treasures.

Here is a card that I created using a freebie digi image from Birdie Brown.  I couldn't resist this adorable bear with a basket of apples.

I used a lot of lost treasures on my card.  The corrugated cardboard piece has been in my pile of scraps forever waiting to be used.  The cardstock leaf is from K & Co. The leaf embossed green paper is from Bazzill Basics and the brown polka dot DP is quite old.  It pays to clean out the craft room every now and then!  The digi is new to me and the sentiment stamp is from Studio G.

Challenges:
Sentimental Sundays - Anything Goes
Annabelle Stamps - Say it with...thanks
Card Makin' Mamas - Fall is here
Do You Stack Up - Warm colors

Sunshine & Smiles to You!

Thanksgiving Blessings

Yea...Me!  Thanksgiving cards made and mailed!!  I am trying to turn over a new leaf and mail out all those cards that I make with the intention of mailing instead of, OOPS...there they sit in my craft room.

I made this card with the intention of mass producing and mailing with a regular stamp.  I kept it simple, with no bulk.  GEEZ...mailing a bulky card costs are outrageous and when you are mailing around 20 Thanksgiving cards, they need to be able to be mailed with just one little regular stamp.

I started with a Kraft card stock card base and added strips of DP and a piece of embossed card stock.  The sentiment was stamped and punched out with SU! punches. I sometime tend to forget about my punches and always reach for my dies. It's time to give a little love to the punches.  I absolutely love this D2D design, Stitched Pumpkin.  It was perfect for my simple, little card.

Recipe:
Stamps - Stitched Pumpkin (D2D), Thanksgiving Blessings (Printworks)
Paper - Pumpkin Pie (American Crafts), Amber Autumn (DCWV)
Coloring - Copics
Misc - 1 1/2" circle and scallop punch (SU!), Just My Type EF (Provo Craft)

Challenges:
Celebrate the Occasion - Must use a punch!
Hooked on Craft Challenges - Something Punched
Kaboodle Doodles - Thanksgiving
Crafting for all Seasons - Thanksgiving, Thanks or Sketch
Freshly Brewed - I am Thankful
I Brake for Challenges - Four Seasons (Fall is my favorite!)
Sentimental Sundays - Thanksgiving/Thank You
My Sheri CRAFTS - Be Thankful
Card Makin' Mamas - Be Thankful

Happy Wednesday to You!

Pumpkins

EDIT:  I guess I cannot guarantee a pre-post on Blogger.  This post was scheduled for Saturday morning and I just realized today (WEDNESDAY!!) that it had never been published.  So Sorry.  I will have to keep a closer eye on my pre-posts.

Delightful Inspiration's Saturday Challenge

It's my week to take a turn being the host and coming up with the challenge theme.

Pumpkins, pumpkins everywhere...We are almost finished with Halloween and getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving and pumpkins are still quite popular through the month of November. Make a card or project that includes at least one pumpkin.

I am inviting you to play along with us at Delightful Inspiration this week.  Go ahead and get a head start on your Thanksgiving cards or maybe a fall card just to let someone know that you are thankful for them.  I used the "Stitched Pumpkin" digi from D2D, but as I was looking through the store, there are quite a few different pumpkin images that would have worked.  It was a tough decision, but this one won out.

Recipe:
Stamps: Stitched Pumpkin (D2D), Sentiment (Hampton Arts)
Paper: Debbie Mumm Harvest & Holiday Collection (DCWV)
Coloring: Copics
Misc: Oval die (Spellbinders), Ticket Corner punch (SU!), button, floss.

Just a personal note to let you know that I ended up taking more time off from my blog and creating than I had planned.  I married my best friend, Rob in The Smoky Mountains on October 11th and we spent a wonderful week exploring the wonderful sites that the Gatlinburg area has to offer.  The Fall foliage was outstanding and I was able to get some breath-taking photos.

The Smoky Mountains were as smoky as ever!

A wonderful weekend to you!

Paper - Fall Stripe (The Paper Studio), Amber Autumn (DCWV)
Coloring - Copics
Misc - Circle, Long Rectangle dies (Spellbinders), Picket Fence punch (MS), Stardust gel pen (Spica), Leaves embossing folder (The Paper Studio), Leaf sticker

Waiting for Autumn

Anything Goes

No excuses this week.  Just play with whatever D2D image that you own.  It's that easy :)

Here is my card:

I, so love to create with Autumn colors.  They are my most favorite color combos...oranges, browns, greens and yellows.  I can almost smell the wonderful scents of Autumn.  Something about argyle and Autumn seem to go together.  I actually used my Sizzix button die to embellish the border strip.  I had to have that die and it has been sitting in my craft room for way too long without ever being used.  Why do I do that?  I used a real button on the image.  I am sure you will be seeing more of this image in the near future.

Stamps: Stitched Pumpkin set (D2D)
Coloring: Copics
Paper: Amber Autumn (DCWV)
Misc:  Square die cuts (Spellbinders), Button #5 Die cut (Sizzix), button, Apron Scallop punch (Fiskars)

Thanksgiving Blessings

One more shot at the Harvest Basket image from Designed2Delight.  I printed, colored with markers, cut out with a square die cut and mounted the image on a layer of orange card stock with the lower edge punched with a Martha Stewart punch and the whole piece was layer with  brown card stock.  The DP is something I pick up last year and can't remember who makes it.  The sentiment stamp is Thanksgiving Blessings by Print Works Collection.  I used my circle punches for the sentiment and a few silver pearls.  I am not real sure that I like this card as it didn't quite turn out the way I had envisioned it in my mind, but then again that is a very common occurrence for me.

Thanksgiving Blessings to You!

Give Thanks

First and foremost, I want to say...Happy Veteran's Day and a big THANK YOU for those that have fought for our freedom here in the United States and those that are currently defending our country and will someday be our future veteran's.

Here is my card using the new image, Harvest Basket from Designed2Delight.  Since Fall is my most favorite season, I am loving this image.  I printed the image and colored it up with my markers and cut it out with the Labels Four die cuts by Spellbinders.  I used the Houndstooth embossing folder on a piece of brown card stock  as my base for the image.  I added some orange ribbon and two yellow buttons threaded with orange floss.  The whole image was added to the card base with foam dots.  The Harvest Basket set comes with 3 different sentiment and this is the one I chose to use.  I kept my card on the clean and simple side, but not really postal friendly with the two yellow buttons.

Challenges:
Scrappy Frogs - Give Thanks
Crafty Emma - Autumn
Stamp, Scrap and Doodle - Fall Cards
Sew Many Cards - Digi Stamp and Fall

Harvest Blessings

Harvest Blessings to YOU

I am loving the Scarecrow Teddy set by Designed2Delight.  I used the image of the cornstalks and pumpkins and added in the crow.  I started with a white card base and added a piece of DP (Good Morning Sunshine by SU!).  I really like how the DP looks like it has texture to it.  The  main image was printed, colored and cut out with a rectangle die cut by Spellbinders.  I chose an orange and brown theme for this card.  The crow was colored, cut out and added to the pumpkin with foam tape.  The sentiment is part of the set and was layered with a piece of scalloped orange card stock.  3 jumbo brads finish off this card.  Adding to my Thanksgiving cards that will go out next month.

Harvest Blessings to You!

Happy Fall Tag

I was playing around with my cricut and cut out some tags some time ago and now is the time to start creating with them.  I came up with this cute little tag using the Scarecrow Teddy and Leaves images from Designed2Delight.  I feel like a broken record, but I love Fall and all the colors of Fall.

I started with a blank  tag and started adding strips of various DP to the background.  I colored up the Scarecrow Teddy and leaves images and cut them out.  I added the Scarecrow Teddy to the tag with foam tape and just adhered the Leaves.  I added the sentiment from the Scarecrow Teddy set and a ribbon to the top with some jute and a little yellow button.  I am thinking of attaching these to some sort of food gift...may a fall snack mix, some white chocolate popcorn or some pumpkin cookies???  Hmmm....not really sure yet, but all these yummy visual images in my mind are making me hungry!

Challenges:
The Pink Elephant - Orange & Brown
Sweet Stampin - Anything but a card
Baby Bud Designs - Fall or Halloween
Fairy Knoll - Happy Fall

Happy Fall Leaves

This was a fun card to make...

I absolutely love the colors on this card.  Fall...ahhh...my favorite colored season of all.  I used the Leaves image from Designed2Delight and colored them in with my Copic markers.  It was fun to blend all those wonderful colors together.  2 of the top leaves are actually popped up with foam tape to give the card lots of dimension in real life.  I used the circle die cuts (Spellbinders) to make the card base.  The tag is a die cut (Provo Craft), also.  The sentiment is from Amuse and stamped with green ink with 3 brads added below the sentiment.  I used some black embroidery floss for a raffia like bow.  The DP is from  DCWV (Amber Autumn).

Challenges:
Daring Cardmakers: Autumn Leaves
Stampin' For The Weekend: Fall or Halloween
Paper Romance: Round Card

Autumn Harvest

Am I having fun being a part of the Designed2Delight Design Team?...YES!  Do I enjoy working with all of Faith's awesome designs?...YES!  The design team ROCKS!  I am thinking that we need to get together once a month (?) and create together....hmmm...kinda impossible, since we live all over the country.  Just a great thought though :)...Just sayin'

Here is my design using rubber and digital together.  I started with a white card base and added a piece of embossed (houndstooth) Old Olive (SU!) card stock.  I used the stamp set, Season of Friendship by SU! to stamp the tree in brown and the leaves in  a combo of Old Olive and Summer Sun (SU!) ink to give them the "fall leaf "look.  I used a technique that I believe is call "out of the box" by cutting a square smaller than the whole image and leaving part of it outside of the box.  I then layered the piece with Old Olive and Summer Sun (SU!) card stock and adhered it to the green panel.  I printed the apple basket image from the Apple a Day set from Designed2Delight, colored, cut out and attached with foam tape.  The sentiment is from the Autumn Harvest stamp set by TPC Studio, stamped in brown ink, layered and 2 brown rhinestones attached on each side of the sentiment.   Whew....that's a lot of typing!  I am very please with the way this card turned out and I hope it gives you an idea to combine your rubber stamps and digital images to come up with a great design.

Thanks for stopping by!
