Rockets & Sprockets

It's the 30th and that means a new card sketch at Cardabilities!

This one was a little intimidating for me at first, but once my creative wheels began turning, it came together very quickly.

I went with a robot theme for my card.  I have had this collection of DP from Recollections for some time now and I am talking years not months.  All the papers and even the robot are from the collection, Rockets & Sprockets.  Such great "boy" papers.  I added some brads that look like screws, fussy cut the robot and added a gemstone and called it a day.  This is basically an all DP card....no stamping or digi's!  That's got to be a first for me.

Come on over to the Cardabilities Blog and check out all the other great designs and I challenge you to play along with us!

Recipe:
Paper - Rockets & Sprockets Collection (Recollections)
Misc - Screw brads (The Paper Studio), Gemstone (Recollections)

Designed2Delight May Reveal and Blog Hop

Welcome to the Designed2Delight
  May Reveal and Blog Hop

You should have arrived here from the creative Debbie's Blog.  She was sure to wow you with her creations!
If not, you will want to start at the beginning.

* All new release images will be 20% for 3 days--sale ending at 7AM Wednesday, May 23rd.

* I will be giving a New Release image away to someone that leaves a comment on my blog.  I will choose the winner on Wednesday, May 23rd at 7 AM (EST).

There are so many wonderful, new images in the May release, it was hard to choose which one I wanted to showcase for the release and blog hop.

I ended up with "Necktie Banner".  It screams "Happy Father's Day" to me.  I kept the card and design simple and clean and on the masculine side.  What a fun array of neckties!  This was a fun image to color.  I used the Wave Crest punch by Fiskars as a border below the image.  The sentiment is a stamp from Hero Arts (Father's Day Script) that was inked and embossed in a dark brown ink.  It's hard to tell in the photo that the sentiment stands out with the embossing.  I hope we are inspiring you with all of the new Designed2Delight images!

Here is the Blog Hop order just in case you started here or got lost along the way.

Bride & Groom

I am re-posting this card from yesterday's post in it's own post for some Challenges.

I am loving the clean and simple look of this card.  I am trying to be better about making cards that are going to be used soon and this one will be given away this weekend.  I have fallen in love with the felt layered flowers from Michael's bridal dept.  By removing the button on top and replacing it with a gemstone, it gave it a more elegant look.  This card contains a lot of materials from the original wedding invitation.  Can't go wrong that way matching the wedding colors and I am recycling materials, too!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all my Mama blogging friends!  Children are a blessing and I have been blessed 4 times and 3 more times as a Grandma.  My husband is so sweet and makes Mother's Day so special for me even though we don't have any children together.  Life is great when you marry your best friend.
 Enjoy your day!

Just a simple, little Mother's Day card using my all time favorite D2D image, the flowers from the "Willow Whimsy" set.  I have used this image from everything from a Get Well card to a Mother's Day card.  I love the Spring/Summer color combo of orange, yellow, green and aqua blue.  I added a polka dot ribbon with an orange felt flower behind the button/tag.  White pearl were added to the center of each of the flowers.  Bright and cheery, just like every Mother's Day should be.

Recipe:
Stamps - Willow Whimsy (D2D), sentiment (computer generated)
Paper - Citrus Stack (DCWV), orange, white cardstock
Coloring - Copics
Misc - Circle dies (Spellbinders), Apron Lace punch (Fiskars), pearls, ribbon, button, felt flower (SU!)
