Bride & Groom

I am re-posting this card from yesterday's post in it's own post for some Challenges.

I am loving the clean and simple look of this card.  I am trying to be better about making cards that are going to be used soon and this one will be given away this weekend.  I have fallen in love with the felt layered flowers from Michael's bridal dept.  By removing the button on top and replacing it with a gemstone, it gave it a more elegant look.  This card contains a lot of materials from the original wedding invitation.  Can't go wrong that way matching the wedding colors and I am recycling materials, too!

Bridal Wishes

It's a new day...it's a new card...

Just me being silly and for some reason I am hearing Michael Buble`s voice running through my mind right now.

I was invited to a Bridal Shower yesterday and this is the card I came up with.

I was wanting to make a card with a bride or a bridal gown on it and not owning such a stamp or digi, I made my own bridal dress.  I free handed the shape of the dress and embossed the bottom with a swirly design and punched the bottom edge of the dress.  I left the top plain and added some green ribbon and a pink flower with a green gemstone in the middle.  The flowers were purchased eons ago at Michael's in the bridal dept and I just used my SU marker to color the white flower pink. The colors of the dress match the wedding colors.  I added the sentiment to the card base and adhered the dress with foam dimensionals.  Simple and elegant at the same time.  This was a fun card to create!

Recipe:
Stamps - Studio G
Paper - White card stock
Coloring - Pretty in Pink marker (SU!)
Misc - Devine Swirls EF, ribbon, Bridal flower (Michael's), green gemstone (Recollections), Apron Lace punch (Fiskars)

Congratulations

I guess you can call this a scrap card.  I used things that  were laying on my work table to create this card.  I was needing a Congrats...on getting engaged card for a wonderful couple I know.  My inspiration was the strip of DP from the Citrus Stack by DCWV.  Perfect Spring like colors and so cheerful.  It's pretty simple card and was easy to pull together.  I don't know about you, but I have a basket full of odds and ends pieces of ribbon that are too long to throw away, but too short for the spool that I keep on my work table and always look there first, before cutting into a spool of ribbon.  Now this card is ready for the mailbox and on it's way to Illinois.

Recipe:
Stamps - Sentiment ?
Paper - Citrus Stack (DCWV), white card stock
Ink - Memento Black
Misc - Mini flower punch, mini brads, Birds & Blooms embossing folder, Scallop punch (SU!), ribbon

Challenges:
Charisma Card Challenges - Ribbon, Ribbon, Ribbon
Shopping Our Stash - Embossing or Meljens image
Catered Crop - Ravenous about ribbon
CAS-ual Fridays - CAS sentiment as the focus

Featured Fan Friday @ Whimsie Doodles

So excited to be a Featured Friday Fan on the Whimsie Doodles Blog today!

With my "Mailed My Heart" freebie design.

 I absolutely love this digi!

I am entering this card into the Whimsie Doodles monthly challenge since every piece of paper came from my scrap pile.  It feels good to use up little pieces of leftover DP instead of cutting into a brand new piece.

Happy Friday to YOU!

Valentine Cards

"Good Things"

I actually used some of my SU! stamps to create some quick and easy Valentine cards.  I was need quite a few mailable cards and decided to keep them clean and simple.  Looking through my rubber stamps, I came across this stamp set, "Good Things" by SU! and liked the small three flower image.  I looked through my scrap drawer and using scraps and ended up with 3 different looks using the same image.

Using some striped paper from We R Memory Keepers.

Using some digital paper, "Pure Love" from Designed2Delight.

And last but not least, the inside of the cards...

A $1 Stamp from Studio G.

The outside sentiment is from Indadinkado.

Happy Sunny Tuesday to You!

Delightful Inspiration Saturday Challenge

It's Saturday and that means...the last Saturday DT Challenge for Delightful Inspiration.  I am the host this week and since today is exactly one month until Valentine's Day, I chose "hearts" as the challenge.  It's time to get started making Valentine cards, gifts, etc...

This is a simple, mass-producible card and it is also, mail friendly.  I just love this digi and it's so quick and easy to color.  I just added some DP and a doily that you can find in the baking aisle.  You should be able to find them easily this time of year with all the Valentine displays that popped up overnight as soon as Christmas Day was over.

Recipe:
Stamps - Cupcake Love Ya
Paper - Trick or Treat Polka Dots (The Paper Studio)
Coloring - Copics
Misc - Doily, Glossy Accents

Challenges:
Pixie Dust Studio - Put Your Heart Into It
I Brake For Challenges - I Brake for Simple!
I couldn't stop at one and used a retired digi.

"Simple Valentine"

I paper-pieced the heart-flower, added some DP, scalloped borders, stitching, buttons and ribbon to a premade Cricut tag.
I used the Heart Blocks EF on the card base.

Recipe:
Stamps - Simple Valentine (D2D), Greetings (Heidi Grace)
Paper - Ka Zoo Collection (K & Co.)
Coloring - Copics
Misc - Buttons, floss, Scallop border punch (SU!), Tag (Cricut George), Hole reinforcer, ribbon, Heart Blocks EF (Provo Craft)

Challenges:
Pixie Dust Studio - Put Your Heart Into It
Paper Play - In Stitches
The Pixie Cottage - Sketch and/or Stitching

Hop on over to the Delightful Inspiration Blog and check out some more "heart" projects and play along with us with a chance to win a free digi of your choice.

Wedding Thank You's

Just a real simple thank you note to match our real simple wedding.  I pulled out a stamp set by Hero Arts, that I haven't used in a long time, Sweet & Simple Patterns.  It comes with 4 different stamps.  I used a rectangle die to cut out the stamp and used the matching scalloped die to add a bottom layer.  A tiny flower punch with a mini brad in the center finished off the note card which was embossed with the Polka Dot EF.  These were easy and quick to make and very cost effective to mail.

Whoo...

Another one of Faith's adorable Whipper Snapper designs.  I am really liking the red, brown and green color combo and need to remember to use this combo again.  I always think of Christmas with red and green, but when I added in the brown, it was just what I was looking for.  I found the felt leaves in the Fall section at Hobby Lobby.  They came in 3 different colors per package and are really thick.  Not having any "Owl" sentiments, I created my own on the computer.  I used my much loved "Leaves" EF and a piece of Faith's Homespun Christmas DP, Red Plaid.

Recipe:
Stamps - Whoo Loves You (Whipper Snapper)
Paper - Red Plaid (D2D)
Coloring - Copics
Misc - Leaves EF (The Paper Studio), Rectangle die cuts (Spellbinders), felt leave, button, floss, corner round punch (EK Success)

Happy Tuesday to You!

Happy Anniversary

Today's Theme:  Anniversary or Wedding

Here is my creation:

Perfect digi for an Anniversary card...flowers and some hearts, too!  I am a coloring first, then pick out the DP kind of girl.  Living life on the edge :)...LOL.  Luckily, I was able to find some DP that coordinated with my colored image.  It's hard to tell in the photo, but I added Glossy Accents to the center of each flower.  I couldn't resist adding 2 puffy hearts to the sentiment and a big red polka dot bow.

Recipe:
Stamps - Fresh Cut (D2D), Round and Round (PTI)
Paper - Citrus Stack (DCWV), Spook Tacular (K & Co.)
Coloring - Copics
Misc - Oval and Long rectangle die cuts (Spellbinders), Glossy Accents, ribbon, Puffy heart stickers (EK Success)

Coffee Girl

Lots of dots, checks and stripes.  I am loving this image, "Coffee Girl" and the colors that I ended up with.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the Whimsy and Star Studio Guest Design Team and totally honored to have given the opportunity to work with Mabelle's original designs.

The DP is from the Sweet Nectar collection by K & Company.  The sentiment is from the stamp set, Coffee Cafe by TPC Studio.  I used a white gel pen to add all the white dots to the image.  It's the little things that add so much to the image after coloring and I need to remember to used my white gel pen more often :)

Squares

The Stamping Boutique is sponsoring the challenge this week over at Creative Craft World.  The theme is squares.

Here is my square card using the TSB's image "Audrey with a heart"

I guess I kind of went with a polka dot theme, too.  After printing, coloring and die cutting the image, I sponged some lavender ink around the edges with the die cut still attached.

Sorry that I have been MIA the last few days.  I have been sick and when you are taking medication that knocks you out, it is hard to create.  Hopefully, I am on the mend now.

Happy late Valentine's Day to all my blog friends!  It's not one of my favorite holidays.  Why should you have to pay 3 times as much for flowers one day a year??  I would rather be treated with love and surprises all the other 364 days of the year and skip Valentine's Day.

Other Challenges:
The Paper Shelter - Buttons and Bows
Cupcake Craft - I {heart} You

Recipe:
Card stock - White
Patterned Paper - Trick or Treat Polka Dots (The Paper Studio)

Glittery Love

I hope you like all the glittery goodness on this heart.  I used the heart image from Sending My Love Kaela by D2D.  I have found that if you use Crystal Effect or Glossy Accent as your glue, the glitter stay on so much better.  I colored my image, cut it out and then added the Glossy Accents and Diamond Dust (SU!).  I stamped my image directly on the patterned paper.  The heart is added with foam tape.  One more Valentine Card down.

Recipe:
Card stock:  White and black
Patterned paper: The Way Love Goes (Daisy Bucket)
Image:  Sending My Love Kaela (D2D)
Stamp: Love (Hampton Arts), black ink
Misc:  Diamond Dust glitter (SU!), Copic markers, silver pearls.

I {heart} U Card and Gift

(2 Sister's weekly challenge is one post down)

Use "Be Mine Bear" or "Puppy Love" image
and create a card and matching gift

This is my card using the "Be Mine Bear" image by D2D.  This was a fun challenge and I am really quite ready for Valentine's Day with all the cards and little gifts that I have been making.  I think this is the first time that I am actually ready for a holiday and not scrambling around at the last minute looking for a little gift.

Here is my matching gift:

I used the same image and colored it the same way to match my card.  The heart has a little pocket to hold a little treat, a gift card or maybe a love note to that special someone.  Once again, I had a lot of fun creating with this challenge.  I added a ribbon for hanging the heart.

Recipe:
Cardstock:  white and red
Patterned paper:  Ka-Zoo Collection (K & Co.)
Image: Be Mine Bear (D2D)
Stamp: Love2Hug (The Stamps of Life)
Misc: Heart and Oval die cuts (Spellbinders), Ribbon, Arrow punch (SU!), White doily, Heart stickers (Jolees) and foam tape.

Come and play along with us this week with the chance to win some D2D digital images.  You are allowed to use an image of your choice.

Love You to Stitches & CPS 100

Here is a card I made using the D2D image, "Love You to Stitches".  I used the CPS sketch 100 for the layout.  I started by printing and coloring my image.  Cut it out and layered with brown cardstock and then a scalloped red layer.  The patterned paper that I used was Autumn Amber (flowers) by DCWV and Love in Bloom (stripes) by My Mind's Eye.  I added some brown grograin ribbon, a brown crocheted flower and a red button.
