2 Sisters Challenge 3 - Karen's Doodles & Punches

Wow...it's already Challenge #3 at 2 Sisters Challenge Blog.  The theme for this challenge is punches.  The challenge is sponsored by Karen's Doodles and the design team was allowed to choose 1 digital image from Karen's Doodles to use.   It was a hard choice as she has soooo....many.... images and they are all too darn CUTE!  After much debate, I chose the Fairy Princess image seeing as I have 2 granddaughters and I am sure the image will get much use in the future.

I had a fun time coloring the princess with my Copic markers and colored pencils.  I don't have a large collection of Copics just yet, but I worked with the small amount that I have.  It's hard to tell from the picture, but I added quite a bit of glitter to the hat, the star wand, flowers on her shoes, her wings and tutu.  A girly card just can't have too much glitter!  I used the Lattice Arch punch by MS, a 1 3/4" circle punch by SU and a double flower punch by EK Success.  The patterned paper is so pink and girly.  It is from a Baby Girl scrapbook kit by Colorbok (found at WalMart) and it matched the Antique Rose card stock by Bazzill Basics Paper.  The sentiment is computer generated and then punched out.  A little pink button completed the birthday card for a special little girl.

Go check out the 2 Sister's Challenge blog and see all the wonderful creation by the design team.  The prize for this weeks challenge is 3 single digital images of your choice from Karen's Doodles.  I certainly would love to win that one!  Looking forward to seeing your designs.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Cupcake Birthday Wishes

Just a clean and simple card today using the sketch 27 from Just Add Ink.  This is a great sketch and I am looking forward to using it again for so many different cards.

To stay with the clean and simple look, I left lots of white area.  The patterned paper is something that I have had for quite some time.  The sentiment was generated on the computer and the rick rack is the stuff you find in the sewing department.  If you are a sewer or should I say seamstress?  Anyway...you probably have lots of goodies that work on your cards, too.  The cupcake is a dimensional sticker by Paper Bliss.

If you want to give this great sketch a go, you need to hurry...it has a midnight deadline TONIGHT!  Yep...a bit of procrastination on my part and the funny part is that I made this card last weekend.  Why do I put off taking pictures of my creations??  I need to hire someone to take photos for me...LOL.  The only problem is that the pay wouldn't be so great :(  I do have a great camera (Cannon Rebel XS) to work with and I need to play with it more often.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Precious

What is more precious than a newborn baby?  Ohhh...I so love the scent of a new baby and how sweet and adorable they are.  I made a very baby boyish card for my nephew and his wife who had a new little boy.

You can download this cute donkey and some sweet quotes from Whimsy Stamps.
Spoonful of Sugar is having a card drive for Michelle of Donkey Smiles, if you haven't heard Michelle has had an awful accident and has lost an eye. You can read about it here as you do you will realised that Michelle is amazing and has a wonderful positive attitude.

I am making a card for Michelle, too and will post it soon.

This little donkey was so cute, I decided to use it for a baby card.  I had fun coloring the image with my colored pencils and odorless mineral spirits.  You can change the whole look of the card just by changing the color of the donkey...pink for a girl.  Some rick rack and a cute little button finished off the card and it will be in mail with some other goodies soon.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a truly terrific Thursday!

Wishes for Bella Blog Hop Winner!

I want to thank everyone for participating in the Wishes for Bella Blog Hop and all the sweet comments on my card for Bella.  You really know how to make a girl feel special :).  All the cards made for Bella are awesome.  Thanks just doesn't seem to be enough.

On to the winner of everyone that posted a comment on my blog...drum roll please...

It's a sweet little girl named REBECCA!  She touched my heart only being 6 and taking the time to think of someone else.  Here is the card that Rebecca made.  Isn't it just adorable?!!  Go check out her blog and give her some love.  She will be receiving a package of goodies in the mail very soon.

I, also have a card to post that I made that fits the clean and simple style.  I am kind of liking that lately.

I found the butterfly dimensional stickers on sale at Hobby Lobby and came across them last night while contemplating making a card.  The patterned paper is Pretty Please Spring papers by My Mind's Eye.  The border punch is the Arch Lattice Edge punch by Martha Stewart.  A computer generated sentiment and some black marker completed this card in record time.  I loved the way the butterfly matched the colors in the patterned paper almost as if they were meant to go together.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a Wonderful Wednesday!

Christmas in July

It's challenge #2 for 2 Sisters Challenge Blog.  Today's theme is Christmas in July.  Wow...you know what that means...only 5 more months until Christmas!!!  There are some great advantages to playing along with the challenge this week.  You will already have a head start on your Christmas cards and you will have a chance to win a great prize.  I hope the card that I have created will inspire you to start creating your Christmas cards for 2010.

I wanted to make a card that was pretty easy to reproduce in multiples.  When I make my Christmas cards, I use one design and just mass produce as many as I need.  How about you, do you make all of one design or make different designs?  I would love to hear your ideas.  I started with a photo that was taken at my daughter's wedding a few year back.  She was married 2 days after Christmas and the advantage was that the church was decorated beautifully for the holiday and that meant less expense on decorating the church.  I cropped and printed the photo and matted it with one of my rectangle scallop Nestabilities die cuts in real red card stock by SU.  The white background is the Swiss Dots embossing folder by Provo Craft.  The stamped sentiment is by Hero Arts stamped in red ink on white card stock, layered with red card stock that was punched on the bottom with the scallop border punch by SU and embellished with a couple of red brads.  The snowflake is something I found in my stash of many snowflakes.  Snowflakes, snowmen and everything Christmas makes me smile...maybe it has something to do with being a December baby?

Be sure and stop over at the 2 Sisters Challenge Blog to view all the Christmas in July cards for a little Christmas inspiration and I challenge you to make a card and link it.  You just might be the big winner this week...

This challenge will be open from today July 17th until Friday July 30th at 11:59pm EST

The prize package for this challenge will include:
1 package Ribbon (8 different colors)

5 pre-folded cards with envelopes (different colors)

1 package of 10 rhinestone hearts

1 package of 3 white ribbon flowers with pearls

And in case you missed our hop last week and want to know more about Bella, here is a link to her website, Bella Tucker. org.

You should have reached me via Rachel's blog. Here is the card that I created especially for bella.  I used patterned paper from My Mind's Eye, Be Loved Collection.  I really like the color combo and all the hearts, flowers and stripes.  I punched out the center of one of the flowers and printed my sentiment, "sending smiles" on it and then attached it with pop dots.  I added 3 little pearls to the flower center.  I decorated the envelope to match the card and they are now on their way to Bella.

The next and last stop on this week's blog hop is... Erin. Please be sure to hop over to to see what she's created for Bella. Then after you finish hopping, if you decide to make a card for Bella, be sure to hop over to Erin's blog where the grand prize entry linky is posted. Christmas Cards All Year Round Design Team

I feel very honored today to be the first one up on the Christmas Cards All Year Round blog.  They announced the new design team and are featuring each one of us each day.  You can go check it out along with this month's challenge, which is pretty much anything goes.  You just have to make 5 Christmas Cards and post them to be eligible for this month's prize.  No specific colors, layouts or designs...how easy peasy is that?!!  Go get busy and make those 5 Christmas cards and they can even be 5 of the same card.  Christmas will be here before you know it and if you start your cards today and keep up with the CCAYR challenge every month until December, you will have accumulated quite a lot of cards ready to be sent out.

Here is one of my cards that is posted on the CCAYR blog for July.  A little geometic design using lots of circles for a very contemporary look.

On another note...tomorrow is the last Bella Blog Hop.  Lots of prizes to win and lots of great eye candy along the way.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you come back tomorrow for more.

Babies...

Just a short post to let you know that I have not completely forgotten about card making and paper crafts.  Here is what I have been busy making.  Baby burp cloths with matching bibs.  I found the cutest baby prints at JoAnn's.  It's their own line of fabric.  The burp cloths start out with a Gerber premium pre-folded diaper and have a strip of fabric sewn down the middle and some rick rack trim.  The bibs are made out of the same material with a flannel underside.  They are so absolutely adorable and almost....makes me want to have a baby...Just kidding!  They are posted in my Etsy shop and you can click on the link on the left hand side and check them out.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!
