Cardabilities Sketch 54

It's April 30th and that means a new card sketch at Cardabilities.  Has it really been 2 weeks since the last one?  Whew...that was fast!

I am really enjoying my time as part of the Cardabilities Design Team!

And here is my take on the sketch...

I used a Stamp Fairy digi as my main focus.  How sweet is this little bear?  The DP from my new Fresh Floral Stack by DCWV went perfectly with the image.  I added some Glossy Accents to the bear's nose and the center of the flower.  I scored the adorable pink felt flower from the bridal section at Michael's.  Check out the bridal section of your local craft store and you might be surprised what great embellishments you will find there.

Come along and play with us at Cardabilities.  We post a new sketch on the 15th and the 30th of each month.  There is always some goodies to win, too!  Don't forget to check the rest of the DT's awesome designs using the current sketch.

Recipe:
Stamps - Stamp Fairy (bear), Inkadinkado (sentiment)
Paper - Fresh Floral Stack (DCWV), Yellow, white and green card stock.
Coloring - Copics
Misc - Pink grograin ribbon (SU!),  Lacey circles and Classic Circles dies (Spellbinders), 1"& 1.5" circle, scallop edge punches (SU!), Glossy Accents, Felt Flower (Bride's Collection, Michael's)

Birthday Birdie and a Winner, too!

First of all the winner from the Designed2Delight April Reveal and Blog Hop is:

Darlene, who said...
"WOW Pat ... I love both creations! I was trying to pick a favorite but gave up! LOL!! There is something special of each card that caught my eye! GREAT job! Thanks for inspiration! Have a wonderful weekend!"

Congratulations, Darlene!!  You have won a free D2D digi of your choice.  Happy Shopping!!

A big THANK YOU for all the sweet comments on my cards.  I have the best visitors!

Here is another one of the new April D2D Digi's.

This was a fun and cute little digi to create with.  This little birdie is sending some Birthday Wishes to someone special.  I die cut my image "outside the box". so to speak.  I love the aqua blue and red combo.  I used my large scallop scissors...something that I haven't used in a long time.  I came across them when I was cleaning and organizing my craft room.  Remember the days before die cuts and edge punches?  That was really not all that long ago.  I couldn't resist adding a little bling to the sentiment :)

This digi comes with 2 birds, one with the card and one without.

Recipe:
Stamps - Birdie Card and Balloon (D2D), Wow Flowers (SU!)
Paper - Celebration Stack (DCWV), red, white card stock
Coloring - Copics, Stardust Gel pen
Misc - Oval Dies (Spellbinders), Lrg Scallop scissors (Fiskars), Word Window punch (SU!), Gemstone

 "Garden Fence"

What a cute garden scene!  I love all things gardening :)  I can never have enough birthday cards, but this would also make a great Happy Mother's Day card.  Pretty simple...colored the image, added DP and ribbon, some punched edge and a crocheted flower/button combo.

I used one other new image...

What a cutie little Dottie!  I love the ladybugs, the flowers and the polka dots on her skirt and headband. I was originally going for a Spring Theme with this image, but ended up with a whole different look with the houndstooth DP and black ribbon/bow.  I colored the polka dots with my black glaze pen and added some shimmer to the heart on the flower and the bee's wings and trail with my Stardust gel pen.  Dottie is so sweet and reminds me of my darling granddaughter, Claire.

Your next stop is sweet Kathy's blog. She will wow us with her designs!

Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win a free digi!

Bridal Wishes

It's a new day...it's a new card...

Just me being silly and for some reason I am hearing Michael Buble`s voice running through my mind right now.

I was invited to a Bridal Shower yesterday and this is the card I came up with.

I was wanting to make a card with a bride or a bridal gown on it and not owning such a stamp or digi, I made my own bridal dress.  I free handed the shape of the dress and embossed the bottom with a swirly design and punched the bottom edge of the dress.  I left the top plain and added some green ribbon and a pink flower with a green gemstone in the middle.  The flowers were purchased eons ago at Michael's in the bridal dept and I just used my SU marker to color the white flower pink. The colors of the dress match the wedding colors.  I added the sentiment to the card base and adhered the dress with foam dimensionals.  Simple and elegant at the same time.  This was a fun card to create!

Recipe:
Stamps - Studio G
Paper - White card stock
Coloring - Pretty in Pink marker (SU!)
Misc - Devine Swirls EF, ribbon, Bridal flower (Michael's), green gemstone (Recollections), Apron Lace punch (Fiskars)

On to the good stuff...the sketch and my card!

A great sketch!

I had a lot of fun with the new sketch.  I went with a "new baby" theme.  I found the perfect paper to go with my little blue bird.  I actually put my Copic markers aside and pulled out my ink and used a rubber stamp and colored pencils and OMS for the image.  I am thoroughly enjoying the challenge of working with a card sketch.  I added some die cut leaves, a blue crocheted flower, a button and a little tag, too.  Lots of sweetness, just like a new baby!

Come on over to Cardabilities and check out all the other designs using this same sketch and play along with us!

Recipe:
Stamps - Bird (CraftSmart), Sentiment (Cute Converse, SU!)
Paper - Baby (DCWV), Blue, green and white card stock, watercolor paper
Coloring - Colored pencils, OMS
Misc - Leaves die (Sizzix), Word Window punch (SU!), Crocheted flower, Button, Floss, Oval Dies (Spellbinders)
