Apple Note Pad/Pen Set

I am back as promised with a notepad/pen set to match the card I made yesterday.

I used the same DP and materials as the matching card and made a little notepad and matching  pen.  The RSVP pens from Pentel are great for adding DP inside the barrel to match your projects.

A peek at the inside:

I buy the legal size pads and have them cut into 1/4's at my local office supply store.  Just make sure to use some strong adhesive to attach the pad to the card stock base.

Fun gift set!
You could change the theme to fit any occasion.

Apple Thank You

I was just messing around with some of my punches that don't get used quite often enough and came up with a cute little apple thank you card.  Would make a great Teacher Thank You card!

I absolutely love the "chalkboard" DP that is quite old and no longer available that I know of.  I am sure there is something similar to it out there in the paper world that would work as a replacement.  I made a center rectangular panel to add the punched apples and the sentiment.  I actually pulled out my Versa Mark ink and clear embossing powder to give the sentiment a deeper value.  The red DP is from a fall kit of papers by Imagine That and they are really old.  The center panel is added to the card base with foam dots and the red part of the apple is also added to the green apple base with foam dots.  A little black ribbon, a red button and some black hemp finish off this card.  Be sure and stop back by tomorrow and check out the matching gift set I made using this same theme.

Recipe:
Stamps - Sentiment (Hampton Arts)
Paper - Chalkboard DP (?), Fall kit (Imagine That)
Misc - Black ink, Versa Mark ink, Clear embossing powder(SU!), Apple punch (Martha Stewart), Corner Rounder (EK Success), Black ribbon, red button, Black hemp (SU!)

A great big CONGRATULATION TO Doreen from Doreen's Dream for winning a free digi of her choice from the Designed 2 Delight March Reveal and Blog Hop!  Enjoy your new digi, Doreen!  Choose the digi of your choice and then contact Faith.  Thanks to all for the sweet comments and hopping along with us!

What a yummy image!  Who doesn't love to go to the local cupcake/Bakery shop and pick out a yummy treat?   After coloring the Cupcake Bakery, I found some DP that matched perfectly with all the pink, purple and yellows.  I added a piece of really wide striped pink ribbon and a crocheted flower.  The sentiment was the finishing touch with an added gemstone to the dot on the i.

Paper - Itsy Bitsy Baby Girl (K & Co.)
Coloring - Copics
Misc - Rectangle dies (Spellbinders), Apron Lace Punch (Fiskars), Ribbon, Crocheted flower, button, floss, purple gemstone

You are the Best!

"Raincoat Pixie"

Woo Hoo..lots of layers going on here!  Paper-piecing, too!  I admire everyone else's paper-piecing and decided to dive in.  It's fun and really makes the image.  Because of the paper-piecing, there was very little coloring.  Just the hair, the umbrella and the buttons. I am so proud of my crocheted flower and need to sit down and make some more.  I think, I used a record number of buttons on my card!

It was a rainy day all day yesterday and this card fit in perfectly with the weather.  We really needed the rain to wash away some of the pollen in the air and cool things down.  High 80's is way too hot for March!

Recipe:
Stamps -  Raincoat Pixie (?), Sentiment (Hampton Arts)
Paper - Quite Contrary (My Mind's Eye)
Coloring - Paper-Piecing and Copics
Misc -  Buttons, Crochet Flower, Floss, Rectangle dies (Spellbinders), 1" circle punch (SU!), gemstone.

ladybug Polka Dots

Same image as yesterday and still working with Kraft card stock, but a little different design.

"ladybugs"

Keeping it clean and simple.  I used my copic markers this time instead of colored pencils to add color to the image.  I added a much hoarded piece of hardware from SU! with a piece of "ladybug ribbon" attached.  Because the ribbon is red with black dots, it reminds me of ladybugs.  I have tons of metal hardware that is sitting unloved and it's time to start adding them to my projects!  Since I reorganized my craft room, I can finally find all those hoarded items.  That's a good thing!!

Recipe:
Stamps - Ladybugs (D2D)
Paper - Black and White Polka Dots (The Paper Studio), White, Red and Kraft card stock
Coloring - Copics
Misc - Rectangle dies (Spellbinders), Metal hardware (SU!), ribbon

I used the new March image, Ladybugs.

I used the printing on Kraft card stock and coloring with colored pencils technique.  Simple card with some embellishments.

I went a little more detailed on this cards and also, used  a piece of the Pure Love striped DP by Designed2Delight.  A lot more detail on this card.

My third and last card is a very simple card.  Again, I printed the ladybugs image and the sentiment (included with the new "Drenched" set) on Kraft card stock and colored again with colored pencils.  I finished the card with some flower brads.

I hope that I was able to inspire you and show you that one image can be used in a variety of different styles. Faith will be offering 20% off the new March releases until Friday morning (7am EST).

CAS Lucky Me

This is my take on a really Clean and Simple card.  These cards are so much more challenging for me than one with lots of layers.  I always feel like I need to add more.  With St. Patty's Day right around the corner, I was going with a different spin on a card for the one I love.  The sentiment says it all for me.  I am so LUCKY to have found the most wonderful man that I call my husband.  Don't get me wrong, neither of us are perfect, but we are perfect for each other.

I wanted to try a chevron pattern and used my zig zag punch to create that pattern.  I used a die cut and couple of  circle punches to make the sentiment.  A little green bling is the finishing touch.

Recipe:
Stamps - Sentiment (Studio G)
Paper - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and white card stock, Amber Autumn (DCWV)
Ink -  Bamboo Leaves (Memento)
Misc - Zig Zag punch (ek Success), Label Four dies (Spellbinders), gemstone crystal bling.

I entered my card in the following Challenges:
Lollipop Crafts - White with a splash of color
Card Caravan - Lucky Green
Cupcake Inspirations - Photo Inspiration
Simply Create Too - I'm So Lucky
Our Craft Lounge - Photo Inspiration
CropStop - Rainbow of Colors

Congratulations

I guess you can call this a scrap card.  I used things that  were laying on my work table to create this card.  I was needing a Congrats...on getting engaged card for a wonderful couple I know.  My inspiration was the strip of DP from the Citrus Stack by DCWV.  Perfect Spring like colors and so cheerful.  It's pretty simple card and was easy to pull together.  I don't know about you, but I have a basket full of odds and ends pieces of ribbon that are too long to throw away, but too short for the spool that I keep on my work table and always look there first, before cutting into a spool of ribbon.  Now this card is ready for the mailbox and on it's way to Illinois.

Recipe:
Stamps - Sentiment ?
Paper - Citrus Stack (DCWV), white card stock
Ink - Memento Black
Misc - Mini flower punch, mini brads, Birds & Blooms embossing folder, Scallop punch (SU!), ribbon

Challenges:
Charisma Card Challenges - Ribbon, Ribbon, Ribbon
Shopping Our Stash - Embossing or Meljens image
Catered Crop - Ravenous about ribbon

Have a Sunny Day

This is one of the images that I chose from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for winning one of my challenge entries.  I would love to be sitting in that chair, listening to the sounds of the ocean and feeling the gentle breeze blowing.  Looking at this card just relaxes me and a little ocean paradise is my favorite thing to do. I used coordinating papers from the Citrus Stack by DCWV.  The glittery brads have been in my stash for far too long.  The stamped sentiment is from The Stamps of Life.  It was perfect for my beachy card!

Recipe:
Stamps: Ocean Paradise (Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps), Summer4Fun (The Stamps of Life)
Papers - Citrus Stack (DCWV), Sand paper (The Paper Studio)
Coloring - Copics
Misc - Circle dies (Spellbinders), Apron Lace punch (Fiskars), Brads (Spare Parts)

Best of Luck Teddy

Is this not the cutest little teddy ever?!!
He is just in style for St. Paddy's Day.

*Awarded Hybrid Chick's Favorite Peep

I used the new March sketch from Craft's Meow to make my card.

 "St. Paddy's Day Teddy"

The adorable teddy is a freebie from Whimsy & Stars Studio FB page through 8pm (EST) tonight.  A big thank you to Mabelle for the freebie and for continuing to design such adorable images!  I am nabbing all the freebies that I can find to replace all the digi's that I lost when my computer crashed a month ago.  A BIG HINT....Back up, Back up and Back up your files and especially all those digi's.

On to the card...All my DP came from the Lemon Flower Matstack by DCWV.  WOW...first time I used any paper out of that stack and I am loving all the designs and colors included.  I colored and fussy cut my teddy.  I even tried a new technique.  After coloring with Copics, I used some colorless blender on a old washcloth and blotted the image to give teddy's fur some texture.  I have seen this done zillions of times, but had never taken the time to try it myself.  Lots of fun on this card...SU felt flowers, loopy border, the curvy edge of the strip that hangs over the card and a little bling on the shamrock.

Recipe:
Stamps -  St. Paddy's Day Teddy (Whimsy & Stars Studio), Sentiment (? not sure)
Coloring - Copics, wash cloth/colorless blender technique
DP - Lemon Flower Matstack (DCWV), yellow card stock
Misc - felt flowers (SU!), loopy border punch (Martha Stewart), green gemstones 9recollections), square dies, label 4 die (Spellbinders), yellow brads
